Accident insurance

Financial protection for accidents big and small

Accidents don’t need to be big to be expensive. Even common injuries like simple fractures can have a significant impact on employee finances. That’s what makes accident insurance an important part of any benefits plan.

To meet the unique needs of your clients, Symetra offers two types of accident insurance. They work in different ways, but both give employees a financial cushion against out-of-pocket costs after an accident.

Scheduled benefit accident

This coverage is a great fit for clients who prioritize catastrophic injury protection. Three plan options are available, with each paying a fixed amount based on the type of injury or treatment. In general, the more serious the accident, the greater the benefits paid.

Child organized sport activity benefit rider

This rider pays a higher benefit amount for accidents that occur during organized sporting events. It covers children of any age, as long as they are covered dependents on the insured's plan.*

Nonoccupational coverage

24-hour coverage for accidents that occur either on or off the job. Nonoccupational options also available.

If your clients prioritize accidents that tend to be more common, per-occurrence accident insurance is the way to go. It pays 100% of eligible services and supplies related to an accidental injury, up to your client’s plan maximum. Plans can be customized between $300 and $10,000 per accident, and cover one or three accidents per insured, per year.

Benefits are paid for the following eligible expenses related to an accident. Click the benefit options below to see what's covered.
