GapAssist combines per-occurrence accident, critical illness and hospital products in one convenient, simple-to-use package.

Clients can choose from three turnkey plans—Base, Classic and Premier—which offer the same benefits at increasing amounts. All GapAssist plans are designed to complement other coverages, like major medical plans, and are HSA-compatible.1

Accident insurance

Pays 100% of eligible expenses related to an accidental injury.2 Benefits are paid regardless of any other coverage, and eligible expenses are covered even if incurred on different days or with different providers.3

Hospital indemnity insurance

Pays a fixed benefit amount each day of a hospital stay lasting at least 24 hours, to a max of 5 days per calendar year.

Other covered facilities include:

  • ICU: 5 days per calendar year
  • Substance abuse facility: 5 days per calendar year
  • Mental health facility: 5 days per calendar year
  • Nursing facility: 60 consecutive days per stay maximum4

Critical illness insurance

Pays a lump-sum benefit after an employee is diagnosed with a covered condition while the coverage is in effect.

Covered conditions are grouped into three categories and include cancer, heart attack and stroke, major organ failure and severe burns.
